Westside Favorite Restaurants

Here are some of our favorite restaurants on the West Side of Maui that are kid friendly. These are my 4-year old son's favorites and have great locations near places that we like to go to. Each also has vegetarian selections that I enjoy.

Aloha Mixed Plate, Lahaina
Located in Lahaina along the waterfront with casual outdoor seating. Local favorite dishes are served, each with a kid-sized version. My favorite vegetarian dish is the stir-fried vegetables with tofu and chutney sauce.

CJ's Deli and Diner, Kaanapali
Kaanapali Fairway shops. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 5:30AM-6PM. 808-667-0968
This restaurant is kid friendly, has a classic American menu and is casual. They have the classic burgers and fries, toasted cheese items. My favorite vegetarian items are the veggie burgers, and the fried rice platter. Conveniently located in Kaanapali.

Farmer's Market, Honokowai
Store open daily, outdoor farmers market MWF 7-11
Vegetarian salad, soup and hot dish bar. Get some local fresh fruit and snacks to take with you. Afterward play at the park jungle gym, swings and tide pool at Honokowai park across the street.

Take out or dine in Chinese Restaurant. Many vegetarian selections. Take out that is great for those days that you don't feel like going out or the kids are too tired.

This restaraunt has delicious food and is never crowded. Dining is indoors. They have great fish selections, and also a good selection for kids as well as a couple of vegetarian dishes. Go for an early dinner, then after dinner, visit the koi pond and then walk down the path to Napili Bay to explore the tide pools and spot an occasional turtle swimming around in the waves and watch the sunset.

Very crowded and sometimes has a line, so either go early or late morning. Breakfast or lunch items are served until 2:00. Great breakfast including their famous macadamia nut pancakes, mickey mouse pancakes and french toast. I like the Veggie burger with pepper-jack cheese and avocado. Great ocean view of Napili Bay. Play in the tide-pools after or enjoy a day at the beach.

Honolua Store, Kapalua
Great local favorites served at a price you can't beat. Open only for breakfast and lunch. We like to go here for breakfast after church. Kumulani Chapel Non-Denominational Church and Sacred Hearts Catholic Church are both located nearby. Afterwards, drive down to the end of Office Road, make a right and park there. Walk along the right side of the Ritz golf course down to the cliffs at the end to explore "dragon's teeth". Dragon's teeth is a geological formation of lava that splashed into the ocean and created rock formations that look like dragon's teeth.
