Hana Highway (Hwy 360) to hana area, look for Mile Marker 31. Turn toward the ocean (east) onto 'Ula'ino Road. Drive 1-1/2 miles, crossing a stream. Just after the stream crossing is the sign for Kahanu Garden.

Set on a rugged lava coast overlooking the Pacific ocean. Largest collection of breadfruit trees and plants that are used for food, building, clothing, medicine, and religion. Learn about one of Hawaii's last undisturbed native Pandnus forests, which is home to many native species of plants and animals.

From Kahului take Hwy 37, turn left just after Rice Park onto Kekauliki Ave. (Hwy 377) Watch for our sign 7 tenths of a mile on your right.

Acres of colorful and unique plant life, amazing rock formations, a covered bridge, waterfalls, pools, koi pond, aviary, carved tiki exhibit, Jackson Chameleon exhibit, Nene Geese, African cranes, exotic and native tropical flowers, plants and trees. Gift shop, refreshments, views of Maui's Central Valley and West Maui Mountains. Pi'ilanihale Heiau "House of Pi'ilani, a sacred lava-stone temple named for Maui's beloved chief who ruled during the 16th century, one of the greatest engineering and construction feats in all of Polynesia.

From the airport: turn left onto Hana Highway 36, turn right on the Haleakala Highway 37. Go four miles up and turn left on Haliimaile Rd. At the stop sign, turn right onto Baldwin. Take the first left on Kalauanui Rd. One mile and you are there.
